Message capture with human approval
Tellagen monitors incident channels for messages that look like timeline-worthy events: status changes, decisions, rollback actions, customer impact notes. It drafts structured timeline events with prefilled fields, then surfaces them for a responder to accept, edit, or decline. You stay in control of what enters the record.
Thread-aware context preservation
Slack threads contain critical incident context that is often lost. Tellagen follows thread conversations tied to timeline events, preserving the full discussion context. When you export a postmortem, the thread context travels with the timeline entry.
Bi-directional sync
Changes in the Tellagen web UI are reflected in Slack, and Slack interactions update the web timeline in real time. Responders can work from whichever surface they prefer without losing sync. War room channel descriptions stay current with incident metadata.

Does Tellagen read all Slack messages?
No. Tellagen only monitors channels that are designated as incident war rooms. It does not access general workspace channels, DMs, or private channels unless explicitly configured.
Can we use Tellagen without Slack?
The web UI works independently for timeline management, severity scoring, and postmortem export. Slack integration adds capture automation and war room management on top of the core workflow.
What Slack permissions does Tellagen need?
Tellagen uses standard Slack bot scopes for channel management, message reading in incident channels, and posting updates. The app follows least-privilege — no admin scopes required.
