## Procedure

### Describe the event

<a id="step-open-the-event-editor"></a>

1. **Open the event editor.** Select Add update. Tellagen opens Add timeline event. The dialog contains Title, Type, Occurred time, Description, Screenshot evidence, Tags, Star event, and Group controls.

<a id="step-enter-the-event-title"></a>

2. **Enter the event title.** Title is required. Enter a short Title that states what changed.

<a id="step-set-type-and-time"></a>

3. **Set type and time.** Select the event Type. Set a valid date and time in Occurred time.

<a id="step-add-optional-context"></a>

4. **Add optional context.** Description is optional. Use it only when the Title needs supporting detail.

<a id="phase-attach-and-save"></a>

### Attach and save

<a id="step-attach-screenshots"></a>

5. **Attach screenshots.** Under Screenshot evidence, select Choose images. You can also paste an image into the form.

<a id="step-organize-the-event"></a>

6. **Organize the event.** Add useful tags. Select Star event for a key event. Choose a Group when one applies.

<a id="step-save-the-event"></a>

7. **Save the event.** A nonblank Title enables Add event. Description is optional. Select Add event. Tellagen then validates Occurred time. An invalid Occurred time can prevent a successful submission after you select Add event.

## You are done when…

Timeline shows the event with its title, type, and occurred time. It also shows any optional description, screenshots, tags, star state, or group.

## Troubleshooting

### Add event is disabled.
